Between summer busy-ness and despair it’s been tough to write about this team. However, as the Cubs have an 8 run lead with 9 outs to go, it appears they will be either 2.5 or 3.5 games back of the wild card by the end of the night. And where there were 5 teams ahead of them stop out of wild card position there are now 2, with 2 others tied with the Cubs.
Kind of feels like the hot stretch we’ve been looking for is here. Just in time for the Cardinals, too!
