Cubs Outsider

I don’t know how this incredibly sloppy game is going to end. As I write this it’s 9-8 Pirates, after Yasmani Grandal hit the Bucs fourth homer of the game – a fact only surpassed in improbability by the 6 runs the Cubs scored on base-loaded walks in the previous half-inning, which was interrupted by a two and a half hour rain delay.

Whatever comes of this game we should take no messages of import from it.

This game will be best remembered for being Paul Skenes debut and that might be the third-most interesting thing about it. Or not even that: there are 4 innings left to play!
